Holy crap. Since it is after midnight Collin is 17 months old today and I can't believe we are still nursing. Every month we hit I am in shock because I wanted to stop by 6 months, then a year now we are at almost a year and a half!
At 6 months he just would not take a bottle. Then by 9 months it was just so easy. We just go with the flow now. He is still nursing all day and once at night. The only down side is when he is getting teeth he nurses a lot! He is still nursing so often I don't think he will be stopping any time soon. I am hoping to wean at 2, and will be thrilled to make it that far.
The first time around I only made it to 5 months and had so many issues. Early on this time I was in the mindset that this was a chore and couldn't wait to have my body to myself. Now I realize there is a whole other side to nursing that I love and will actually be sad when it is over. I am still looking forward to having my body back, but can wait now.
